Immersion - The Water is DEEPER Than You Think!

     I sincerely pray all are well or will be soon according to YHWH's will

It's been a while but in this brief and long overdue message that will edify some and might discomfort others ( oh well ), I'd like to look into another world renown mis-taught doctrine that has gone unchecked by the multitude of "biblical scholars" and teachers for too long.

This time I'm goin in thoroughly on the "babel" aka confusion that has existed pertaining to "immersion" or what many call "baptism". The question and or dialogue is: do we still need to be physically water immersed or should we soley rely on the spritual aspect? ..... well let's be exhaustive on this matter from the power of the ruach h'qadesh so no one will ever be able to "gainsay" (dispute or criticize) and so we can finally "GET IT RIGHT!"

As always let's first examine the terminology we are attempting to speak about, in our hebrew language the word is "tabal" pronounced: taw-bal' a primitive root; to dip, to immerse:--dip, plunge. (Strong's 2881) ...so we now have a starting point.

Now let's get at it! ( time to see how indepth your mind can get )

Many believe that apostle Paul revealed the ancient first immersion in 1st Corinthians chapter 10 verses 1-4: "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Mashiach". ..... ~ This plainly shows there was a immersion of two sorts:

1) the cloud and the sea = physical water,
2) spiritual meat (manna) with spiritual drink = Mashiach the living water.

and for those of you with serious insight please examine psalms 68:7-9,

68:7 "O Elohim, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:
68:8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of Elohim: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of Elohim, the Elohim of Israel.
68:9 Thou, O Elohim, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary".
.....~ what, water confirmed our inheritance? >>> How did all them the scholars miss that???

But for the purpose of getting understanding I was willing to get exhaustive with the entire scripture prior to this account even as far back as b'reshyth / Genesis and continuing through the entire scriptures to show how the Most High YHWH shows us things as a ensign that we sometimes ignore due to our lack of wisdom. So if we finally take the time to embrace YHWH's message, he has consistantly shown us immersion through various ways and means such as:

NOAH and THE FLOOD

MOSES DOWN THE NILE

ISRAELITES THROUGH THE RED SEA

YONAH OVERBOARD into THE LARGE FISH

all these are YHWH given examples of: REDEMPTION FROM DEATH THROUGH WATER >>> PHYSICAL WATER !!!

       ( This alone should answer the question of water immersion! )

continuing on: Lets look specifically at just ten passages that endorse water immersion in the renewed covenant.

1) Matthew 3:13-17, ~ Then cometh Yahushua from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 3:14 But John forbad him, saying, "I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?" 3:15 And Yahushua answering said unto him, "Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness". Then he suffered him. 3:16 And Yahushua , when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of Elohim descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased". ..... ~ This is the clearest of ALL examples >>> Yahushua himself got water immersed! - and his reasoning was?  "for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness"  -> AFTER THAT the ruach h'qodesh fell on him!

As a note we need to recognize that Yahushua didn't get immersed / baptized for HIS sins, or so he can show faith in the Most High or himself, - he got immersed as a example to us of how to receive the ruach h'qadesh and he also got immersed for those who couldn't! ( like those who didn't yet understand a rebirth, or for those that were still imprisoned, or like the theif next to him on the stake / cross for a few examples ). ..... selah

2) Matthew 28:18-20, ~ And Yahushua came and spake unto them, saying: "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Set-apart Spirit: 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age". ..... ~ Here is what's know as "the GREAT COMMISSION" - where our mashiach sent them out with specific instructions NOT to be tampered with >>> TEACH & IMMERSE as he has taught and he was immersed!

3) Mark 16:14-16, ~ Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 16:15 And he said unto them, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned". ..... ~ Here is Mark's account of "the GREAT COMMISSION" - where he declared our mashiach promoted both faith AND immersion.

4) John 3:1-5, ~ There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 3:2 The same came to Yahushua by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from Elohim: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except Elohim be with him. 3:3 Yahushua answered and said unto him, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of YHWH". 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 3:5 Yahushua answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of YHWH. 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit". ..... ~ some people think Yahushua is referring to our birth as a child and then later a spiritual baptism, BUT we all have that type birth when our Mother's water breaks - including heathens, pagans, etc. And we must NOT forget Yahushua was born of that type water and STILL went and got physically immersed decades later!

5) Acts 2:36-41, ~ "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that YHWH hath made that same Yahushua, whom ye have crucified, both King and Messiah". 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Kepha and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 2:38 Then Kepha said unto them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahushua the Messiah for the forgiveness of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the set-apart Spirit. 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as YHWH our Elohim shall call". 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying "Save yourselves from this untoward generation". 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. ..... ~ Here is Kepha / Peter effectively evangelizing and obeying what's know as "the GREAT COMMISSION" with specific instructions given by his rabbi Yahushua. He let them know to be "baptized" to receive the set-apart spirit ... he never said "be spiritually baptized" to receive the gift of the ruach h'qadosh >>> that would be redundant.

If we keep torah in mind we would remember that in shmote / exodus when Moshe / Moses came down from communing with the Most High this same number of 3000 souls were lost:

32:26 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, "Who is on YHWH's side? let him come unto me". And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. 32:27 And he said unto them, "Thus saith YHWH Elohim of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour". 32:28 And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men. 32:29 For Moses had said, "Consecrate yourselves to day to YHWH, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day". ..... ~ unfortunately many irresponsible Israelites lost their lives because this was a opportunity for spiritual growth but they "blew it" because they made themselves unclean physically although they promised they wouldn't, (exodus 19:8-15). Thus 3000 souls were destroyed but in Acts chapter 2 the 3000 souls were saved.

6) Acts 8:12-17, ~ But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of YHWH, and the name of Yahushua the Messiah, they were baptized, both men and women. 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of YHWH, they sent unto them Kepha and John: 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Set-apart Spirit: 8:16 ( For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Master Yahushua. ) 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Set-apart Spirit. ..... ~ This plainly shows they were physically water immersed by Phillip, and even Simon got immersed. Then we see without controversy that the set-apart spirit (HE) had not yet visited them until "real disciples" came and prayed for them! ..... WARNING:  fake apostles and disciples as well as torah ignorers or talmud followers have NO and I mean NO power to usher in the ruach h'qadosh! .... THIS IS WHY THE CHURCHES BAPTIZE IN VAIN !!!

7) Acts 8:26-27,  8:35-39, ~  And the angel of YHWH spake unto Philip, saying, "Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert". 8:27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, ..... ~ We see Philip was sent by a REAL messenger of YHWH to deal with a faithful believer in the Elohym of the Israelites who obviously was a honest man because he was trusted with the entire wealth of Ethiopia.
continuing..... 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Yahushua. 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, "See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized" 8:37 And Philip said, "If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest". And he answered and said, "I believe that Yahushua the Messiah is the Son of YHWH". 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of YHWH caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. ..... ~ The eunuch demanded after hearing of this Yahushua and believing on him that he might be immersed also, and without controversy they went down into physical water and the Spirit of YHWH showed up and the eunuch left rejoicing due to BOTH aspects of immersion.

8) Acts 9:15-18, ~ But Yahushua said unto him, "Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: 9:16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake". 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, "Brother Saul, the Saviour, even Yahushua, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Set-apart Spirit". 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. ..... ~ This is the account of Shaul / Paul having his sight restored after being blinded. We see that soon as he was able HE WENT AND GOT IMMERSED >>> SO HE COULD RECEIVE THAT SPIRITUAL FILLING.

9) Acts 22:12-16, ~ And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there, 22:13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, "Brother Saul, receive thy sight". And the same hour I looked up upon him. 22:14 And he said, "The Elohim of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. 22:15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard. 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of YHWH". ..... ~ This is the account of Paul himself that we saw from Acts chapter 9 confirming the charge to be immersed right away!

10) Acts 3:20, ~ "Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of YHWH waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 3:21 The like figure where unto even baptism doth also now save us, not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward YHWH, by the resurrection of Yahushua the Messiah". ..... ~ Here is a confirmation that what happened with Noah and his family was a prototype of immersion, to lead us to a re-birth in Yahushua.

The point to be made is:
water immersion / baptism is OUR responsibility,
spiritual immersion / baptism is YHWH'S

 ..... so now humble yourselves and realize we have NO authority to petition the Most High what he needs to do when we haven't even been obedient to what he showed us to do!

translation: it takes two to tango!!!
    
I have also heard that the main confusion comes from what's in 1st Corinthians 1:10-17 when Shaul / Paul wrote:

"Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Master Yahushua the Messiah, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1:11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Kepha; and I of the Messiah. 1:13 Is the Messiah divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? 1:14 I thank YHWH that I baptized none of you, BUT CRISPUS AND GAIUS; 1:15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 1:16 And I BAPTIZED ALSO THE HOUSEHOLD OF STEPHANAS, besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 1:17 For the Messiah sent me not to baptize, but to preach the glad tidings: not with wisdom of words, lest the offering of the Messiah should be made of none effect".

..... ~ one of these days we are going to learn THERE IS such a thing of reading with comprehension AND in context! - Paul was simply explaining that some in the house of Chloe were forming "clicks" and "set trippin" which is counter-productive and against unity, ...he denounced being the focus of immersion and directed the focus back to Yahushua where it belonged! And without controversy HE DID confess immersing some but he also articulated the fact that immersing people is not what HE was sent for, >>> HE WAS SENT TO PREACH!

I also find it suspicious that those that twist up 1st Corithians chapter 1 seem to ignore 1st Corinthians 11:1, and then they also duck what Paul wrote earlier in Romans chapter 6:

6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yahushua the Messiah were baptized into his death? 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as the Messiah was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. ......~ translation: water immersion is for a REBIRTH!

ATTENTION: I would be remiss and derelict if I failed to explain the elements of immersion as submitted by scripture.

This planet since it's creation has contained elements such as water, earth, wind and fire ...and we being created on this planet have to follow suit. When a person is "reborn" to a "new creation" that person has to include these elements or the rebirth will NOT be complete. (note Acts 2:2-3)

During a immersion it not only takes water - but that water has to be directly connected to the Earth itself.  If you go in a "baptismal pool" or the like, that water has been separated from YHWH'S created Earth and is sitting in some man made construct of concrete, thick vinyl,  etc. which is a "disconnect" (nothing spiritual about that!)

Looking back: Adam (ad = continuation + am = people) himself was created from the dust of the Earth and a mist (water) was made to come up out that Earth which is a "direct connection" ( b'reshyth / genesis 2:6-7 ) and wind (ruach) was also included.

NOW LETS GET SOME MORE ISRAELITE UNDERSTANDING:

Out of all the prophets, the world is waiting for the return of Eliyahu ( Matthew 17:3 & 17:10-13) ... lets see what makes him so special!

In 1st Kings chapter 18 &19 we saw:
18:41 And EliYah said unto Ahab, "Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain". 18:42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And EliYah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 18:43 And said to his servant, "Go up now, look toward the sea". And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, "Go again seven times". 18:44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the SEA, like a man's hand. And he said, "Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not". 18:45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a GREAT RAIN. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. 18:46 And the hand of YHWH was on EliYah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

first: there's your water !!!

19:9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of YHWH came to him, and he said unto him, "What doest thou here, EliYah?" 19:10 And he said, I have been very jealous for YHWH Elohim of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. 19:11 And he said, "Go forth, and stand upon the mount before YHWH". And, behold, YHWH passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before YHWH; but YHWH was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but YHWH was not in the earthquake: 19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but YHWH was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

then: there's your wind, earth (shaking) and also fire !!!

..... and to answer the question: can non-Israelites with faith in YHWH be immersed to any benefit?  >>> read 2nd Kings chapter 5:9-14

And as a final knock-out blow, let's look at those in the days of Yahushua that had a issue with water immersion.

In Luke 7:28-30 we see some spiritless haters exposed:
"For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of YHWH is greater than he". 7:29 And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, declared the Most High righteous, being baptized with the baptism of John.  >>> 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers REJECTED THE COUNSEL OF YHWH AGAINST THEMSELVES, BEING NOT BAPTIZED OF HIM! <  ..... ~ Obviously lack of immersion = not receiving the ruach h'qadesh and then rejecting YHWH and rejecting his counsel in lieu their own directives, ... BAD CAREER MOVE!

THIS IS WHY THEY COULDN'T RECEIVE THE SET-APART SPIRIT !!!
PLEASE DON'T BE LIKE THE PHARISEES AND LAWYERS ( of talmud )

note: yes, we also can be knowledgeable and powerful WITHOUT either immersion like h'shatan and his followers, but:

I BET OUR BEHAVIOR HASN'T AND WON'T CHANGE TO COMPLETE RIGHTEOUSNESS AS YHWH WATCHES AND JUDGES US!

Yep, we have to go down under to rise above!

A well put Scriptural Commentary on Water Immersion ( Baptism )

 Certainly edified my thoughts on this subject. However, there was one point made that I never considered nor put any thought to, and that is the Water being seperated from the Earth. I was in the mindset that it's ABBA YAH'S Water so therefor it's a Baptism.. Oh foolish woman that I was, how that slick arst satan can trick you with the smallest of ways which if not CHECKED, will end up being a very  crucial point ( issue ) for the Believer.. At this point I feel like I'm Blessed for not being Baptized by un-believers.. 

Another point I must bring out is; I use to always tell myself that I'll wait to get Baptized when I get back HOME with YAH/YAHUSHUA . WRONG!!  Thank You ABBA YAH for edifying me on the part that I misunderstood.. HALLELU YAH!!!
