A Place to fellowship with the humble children of YHWH

self preservation ... the first law of ???

shalom mishpacha, "All praises and glory continually to the Most High YHWH" our creator, our sustainer and from where all real blessings come.

I pray all is well with you and yours and if not, know assuredly it will be according to his will just keep faith! In this attempt at communicating scripturally influenced thoughts I'd like to look into another conventional philosophy based soundly in carnality. The topic this time is that ignorant old teaching "self presevation is the 1st law of nature" ... but who's nature, man or h'shatan's?

We have all read about what man's behaviour should be on many occasions all throughout the scripture but where did you even learn from anyone of credibilty that you should take a carnal mindset when dealing with others? Before looking into the more common "canonized text" lets take a peek into verses lesser read from 2nd Enoch chapter 30 vs. 11, " And I gave him seven natures: to the flesh hearing, the eyes for sight, to the soul smell, the veins for touch, the blood for taste, the bones for endurance, to the intelligence sweetness (enjoyment). ... didn't it say "I gave", now where here when the messenger was speaking to Enoch did it state that the most high created man with any type of nature dealing with selfishness aka a law of self preservation?, the heathens say it's a law of nature don't they? so wil somebody please show me through any of the word where our nature was created that way, (sounds to me somebody entered in and sowed a seed of of wickedness to derail us).

Now in the more common text to most of us we can read from the beginning aka b'reshyth that carnality will tell you to do what you want for your own advancement like the serpent told chawah aka Eve in the garden Genesis 3:2-7, And the woman said unto the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, Elohym hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die". 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 3:5 For Elohym doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; ...a prime example of not only disobedience but disobedience due to carnal lust to be greater .... bad move! Did she believe this really would benifit their preservation or >>>advance their status! .... (sounds very very carnal) well mankind has experienced the tragedy of what has happened since that.

There are so many examples of carnality we can learn from in the scriptures we have NO reason ever to act like fleshly self preservation can ever be profitable, for example in Acts chapter 5 informing us of the acts of Ananias and Sapphira .... how did their attempt at preserving themselves turn out? or lets look at a King, a man after YAH's own heart ... yep melek Dawid. This man had everthing a King could want but yet and still he let his carnality get the best of him and went into another mans wife .... now how can that ever be linked to preservation? or from the b'sar of Luke chapter 12:16-21, And he spake a parable unto them, saying, "The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But Elohym said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward YHWH". ...now this says it all!

Maybe if we fast foward we can finally see the ultimate example from on high of how to deal with people without concerning yourself with only yourself! Everybody that has ever been to church, etc. in their lifetime has been taught a simple, truthful understanding - in John 3:16 we learned, "For Elohym so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ... well well, we can now understand the creator of man's natures gave a PERFECT example opposite selfishness / carnality that we should really admire - sacrife for others (that are sinners worthy of death) through his very own son that did nothing wrong. The offering YHWH gave to us should make us to overstand that HIS 1st law for our preservation has NOTHING to do with self.

When we think carnally we lean to the mindset that we are to be independent because we have perverted various scriptures like the epistle of Paul in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through h'mashiac which strengtheneth me". ...now if you read the whole chapter wasn't he writing to those in Philipi to encourage them how to conduct themselves like he does and that he was ok through his faith? and didn't he let the know he was NOT alone because mashiac was with him? It never was about his independence but it is about their / our inter-dependence on each other and strenth from h'mashiach.

We can go all throught the tanak as well and when we will have to come to the conclusion that the most high YHWH is our strong tower when we live in righteousness according to him. When we also look at a occurance that h'mashiac declared a act of unselfishness should be spoken throughout the world as a memmorial (Mark 14:3-9, John 12:3), in Mark 14:3-9 we read: And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head. 14:4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, "Why was this waste of the ointment made? 14:5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor". And they murmured against her. 14:6 And Yahushua said, "Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. 14:7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. 14:8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. 14:9 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her ....- how many time in the bible have your heard Yahushua say anything to that effect? This woman showed her faith in h'mashiac so thoroughly she used up all that she had of earthly value on another other than herself proving NO concern for self.

If we desire that same type of confirmation from Yahushua then we must adapt that same mindset - give all we can to help others and prove we have the spirit he wants us to have and display! Yahushua also explained and later proved to us in John 15:12-13, "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends". ....well, nothing to misinterpret here, it solidly teaches flawlessly there is NO such thing as self-preservation IF love is involved!

So the next time some carnal minded philosopher tell you that "self preservation is the 1st law of nature" let them know animals dont even belive that foolishness because they will fight any preditor and sacrifce their life for their young or for the herd. Let the heathens of this world correctly know self-preservation is NOT the 1st law of nature according to YHWH or YAHushua, but instead - "self presevation is the first law of CARNALITY " .... OH OH,
