The Shabat - Remember to do what???

shalom al'chem - peace unto you all, but mainly "ALL Praises Honor and Glory to the Most High YHWH alone" - our King everlasting and from where all true wisdom and knowledge comes, -> baruk h'shem! and baruka ha'bo b'shem YHWH aka "blessed is YOUR coming in the name of YHWH" @ Yahushua

In this very brief message that may be more of a challenge, I'd like us to examine what we have heard over & over & over but don't seem to "get it" and be true to the charge of OUR shabat behavior from the commandment that's listed forth. We all should have read this commandment in torah and heard this first presented from shmote / exodus 20:8-11,

20:8 > Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it set-apart < ,

20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 20:10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of YHWH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 20:11 For in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YHWH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

So first we need to examine the original words of this command in Hebrew: Zkur 'aTh-YUM h'ShBTh L'QDShU - now let's first examine the words in this command, if we study the language like we should we will find out that the word "remember" is from the ancient Hebrew word "zkur" that we searched from Strong's no. 2142 zakar pronounced: zaw-kar' a primitive root; properly, to mark (so as to be recognized), to remember; by implication, to mention; also (as denominative from 2145) to be male:--X burn (incense), X earnestly, be male, (make) mention (of), be mindful, recount, record(-er), remember, make to be remembered, bring (call, come, keep, put) to (in) remembrance, X still, think on, ......~ so our charge to "remember" is because YHWH knew in the future some of our enemies as well as our own people would cause us to FORGET and DISGUARD.
Now that in itself seems simple enough and some of you already knew that but did you ever evaluate yourself and check if YOU actually do this?..or do YOU forget to REMEMBER & GUARD this appointed day as he commands?

Well if we examine where OUR hearts and minds are today each Friday sundown to Saturday sundown every week we may be surprised!
Remember the first man YHWH commanded to be destroyed for breaking torah? ...We saw this in numbers chapter 15

15:32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath day. 15:33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. 15:34 and they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. 15:35 And YHWH said unto Moses, "The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp". 15:36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as YHWH commanded Moses. ......~ it is not clearly mentioned why he was gathering the "wood", ...whether to build a dwelling or kindle a fire for food because the Hebrew word used is: "ets" pronounced "ates" ( from Strong's 6095 ) a tree from its firmness; hence, WOOD .....BUT THE MOST HIGH DIDN'T WAVER -> A SHABAT COMMAND IS A SHABAT COMMAND, ........PERIOD!

What we are ignoring is his man transgressed with a "High Hand" meaning: he could care less about a sabbat command! - but if you read the previous two verses you see YHWH's warning: >>> 15:30 But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth YHWH; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.15:31 Because he hath despised the word of YHWH, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him. .....nuff said !

There is also a reason the most High commanded us NOT to kindle the stove on the shabat as we saw in Exodus 35:2-3 of the torah 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a set-apart day, a Sabbath of rest to YHWH: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the Sabbath day. .......~ we should know this was NOT a reference to lighting the rooms for visibility, it was instructing us NOT to heat up that stove / oven to cook and focus on feeding your flesh with dead animal flesh because this set apart day is to commune with YHWH and instead FEED YOUR SPIRIT WITH LIFE!

( this ain't rocket science! ).

Let's take the TIME to show and prove the purpose of "gathering sticks".
1) Yeremiyah 7, 7:16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. 7:17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 7:18 THE CHILDREN GATHER WOOD, and THE FATHERS KINDLE THE FIRE, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other elohim, that they may provoke me to anger. 7:19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith YHWH: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? .....~ Obviously the massive sin here was >>> making cakes to the Queen of heaven < .....but MY point is when we see gathering of sticks or wood, it's mainly to >>> kindle a fire.
or this example:
2) 1 Kings 17, 17:8 And the word of YHWH came unto him, saying, 17:9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. 17:10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there GATHERING of STICKS, and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink. 17:11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. 17:12 And she said, As YHWH thy Elohim liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I AM GATHERING TWO STICKS, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. .....~ well, well, well, Obviously some mouths could care less about these scriptures due to their own lust of a comfortable meal over spending TIME in the comfort of YHWH every week, .....BAD CAREER MOVE!
So the purpose of gathering sticks on shabat? >>> To kindle and cook, aka flesh over spirit.

Unfortunately on shabat, many of us are tied up in the cares of this world and I don't mean at a job to pay your bills, I mean concerned with the World's goings on. Didn't James explain fully that separating from YHWH to buddy-up and focus on the World around you is liken unto ADULTERY? ... let's re-read James 4:4, "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with YHWH? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of YHWH". ......~ now ask yourself: how much more on every set-apart shabat when we try to be buddy buddy with the World's events?

Even back in b'reshyth / genesis, the Most High showed us after all his creation he "rested" or more accurately CEASED on the seventh day as a pattern for US to follow -> He didn't need the rest, but he knew WE WOULD. YHWH had every right to entangle himself on the seventh with the World in which he just created, but if he didn't THEN WHY SHOULD WE? .....selah

There is so much goin on in the world today it is ridiculous, but did you notice how the "GOD OF THIS WORLD" makes sure the exciting stuff happens on the weekends? >>> and just to CATCH YOU UP..... how slick!

Remember what we were admonished in Paul's epistle to the Ephesians?
6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in YHWH, and in the power of his might. 6:11 Put on the whole armour of Elohim, that ye may be able to stand against the WILES OF THE DEVIL. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

So the crafty devil knows more than anyone how to pervert your focus away from the appointed day on rest and in his spiritual wickedness he constantly uses things to trap us up like: RECREATIONAL CHEMICALS, FAMILY ISSUES, SOCIAL EVENTS, ENTERTAINMENT, SPORTS, SOCIAL MEDIA, ELECTRONIC GAMES, not to forget LOCAL AND WORLD NEWS.
So now back to my initial question pertaining to remembering to guard his day of rest: Did you ever evaluate yourself and check if you actually do this? >>> do you REMEMBER & GUARD the appointed 7th day as he has commanded? .....Let's self check:

1) are you caught up in your nicotine, narcotics, alcohol on the shabat?

2) are you caught up in SOCIAL EVENTS where you live during shabat ?

3) are you caught up in secular ENTERTAINMENT / SHOWS during shabat?

4) are you caught up in live or televised SPORTS during shabat?

5) are you caught up in that SOCIAL MEDIA stronghold during shabat?

6) are you caught up in your PLAY STATIONS & X BOX etc. on the shabat?

7) are you caught up in the cares of this world from NEWS on the shabat?

Majority of us can pass the checklist every shabat on SOME on these but when it comes to addictive recreational substances, MANY fail because obviously: THEY DON'T PUT THEIR REST IN YHWH ....they substitute his intended rest with relaxation through chemicals ( what a insult! ),

But the majority will certainly fail because when it comes to the question: are you caught up in the cares of this world from NEWS on the shabat? - and MOST OF US ARE CONSTANTLY GUILTY WITH A "HIGH HAND" ( and this also is a insult! ).

We with wisdom know h'shatan likes to distract us away from YHWH so he can accuse us to OUR creator but: WHY DO WE GIVE HIM THAT POWER?, what is going on this YHWH created planet that is SO IMPORTANT we have to put OUR creator on hold every week? >>>>> BAD CAREER MOVE!!!

Unfortunately the unlearned church idiots like to frustrate unlearned Israelites by mis-representing what Yahushua said in Mark 2:23-28,
2:23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the Sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. 2:24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the Sabbath day that which is not lawful? 2:25 And he said unto them, "Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 2:26 How he went into the house of YHWH in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?"
2:27 And he said unto them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is master also of the Sabbath".

So let me make this easy for us to explain going forward: Yahushua was 100% correct in his statement: "The shabat was made for man, and not man for the shabat". .....~ but those with NO capacity to think or teach failed to question the shabat haters: who made man? ~ then ask them who made the shabat? >>> both times the answer is YHWH!!

So maybe now they can shut up long enough to understand >>> YHWH didn't make man to worship a day on the calendar or even worship the shabat, he made man to worship HIM, ON THE SHABAT! .....see how easy that was?

Many of us would like to keep the forth commandment 100% - BUT because we worry so much about criticism from those around us like family, friends and even some mis-guided teachers - we punk-out and acquiesce to their behavior and what's worse is we don't have the guts to retaliate with with wisdom from our book of instruction for YHWH's true servants. We should also evaluate our conversation on every shabat and make sure ALL our words are pure >>> especially on that day!

We should have remembered from the wisdom in proverbs 18,

18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof" .......~ so why should we give a hoot about those that criticize us for blocking out the world and focusing on YHWH that 1 day out the week? .....and why should we practice profane communication?

                                        WHAT DO YOU THINK HE GAVE US THAT COMMANDMENT FOR???

How can we on the day of rest and rejuvenation, possibly receive perfect instruction and "good news" if we focused on THEIR destruction and "bad news"? Many of us true Israelites are judgmental of those that don't keep the shabat ( like CHRISTIANS ) and criticize them for: partying friday night, cooking all day saturday, heavy-duty shopping at the malls and grocery stores, etc. ....much like the behavior we saw in NehemiYah 13:15-19,

In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals. 13:16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the Sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. 13:17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the Sabbath day? 13:18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our Elohim bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the Sabbath. 13:19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the Sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the Sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the Sabbath day.
......~ and we all can see the error and criticize this type behavior because, THEY DIDN'T REMEMBER TO KEEP THEIR GUARD OF TORAH UP - but honestly when it comes to focusing on various Worldly things like news, WE ARE RIGHT THERE WITH THEM!
and certainly this is also a form of: PROFANING THE SHABAT!

If we really stop to think: what in the world is going on out there in the World that we can do anything about anyway? ...especially on the SHABAT!

So we all must grow in our walk and as we confess our sins, we then have to repent of our sins and also >>> BRING FORTH FRUITS WORTHY OF REPENTANCE which should be manifested as: CHANGED BEHAVIOR!
Obviously many show they really don't need that alone time with YHWH on shabat, because to them YHWH obviously don't keep as good company as that "GOD of this world" and his distractions >>> SO WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD THEY WANT TO GO TO YHWH's KINGDOM ANYWAY?

YES, there are a LOT of intentional distractions out there 7 days every week but WE must remember to stay on guard and stay diligent to what's really important meaning YHWH and all that he has for us including a spiritual rest on his prescribed day. And for those that may be a little slow, "practice makes perfect" and the weekly shabat is a shadow of perfect things to come for those that believe as we read in Hebrews chapter 4,

4:8 For if Joshua (after Moses) had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 4:9 There remaineth therefore a Sabbath to the people of Elohim ......~ So this gives us a real indication of what's yet to come in the Promised Land -> REAL SHALOM,

....but if we practice focusing on Worldly mess every shabat, then we will show and prove to the Most High YHWH we are NOT worthy of this perfect rest, ......nuff said!

so from now on: REMEMBER THE SHABAT and FORGET THE WORLD !!!
