Helmet of SALVATION

shalom mishpacha, ALL praises, honor and glory to the most high YHWH and "baruka h'bo beh' shem YHWH", "blessed is your coming in the name YHWH" >>> Yahushua!

In this brief attempt at spiritual inculcation I'd like to look at something we must NOT forget in these turbulous times, how to protect ourselves in spritual battles. Throughout history as man went into battle from one war to another he found better and more effective ways to protect himself - aka "neccesity is the Mother of invention", - from the ground up man has gone from barefeet to sandels to shoes to boots to protect his feet, - then from long animal-skin skirting to shin guards to knee pads to metal skirting to protect his legs, then various ways to gird his loins, - then from animal skin or leather forearm protection to boiled wax leather forearm and hand protection to protect his upper extremities, - then from various animal skins and furs to boiled wax leather chest protection to metal breastplates to protect his torso, to an array of contraptions to protect his neck and head by such headwear we call helmets and faceshields. All these devices advanced over time to help keep the warriors bodies as safe as possible, just look at the space age technology today used to protect soldiers.... incredible!

　When we in these days and times have to fight, more often than not it's a spiritual battle in which those type developed items are totally useless, we need something greater in strength then leather or metal and that should never be removed!, Remember what that apostle made by Yahushua told them & us in 2nd Cor. 10:3-6,

".....For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are NOT carnal, but mighty through ELOHYM to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of ELOHYM, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Mashiach; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled". ......- Our weapondry is NOT man-made or man-fashioned because it would surely fail but it is of a spritual consrtuct from the most high of YHWH so it can't fail !!! .... todah YHWH. I also wonder why so many pastors, evangelist, teachers, morym, etc. fail to articulate the "battle" part of these verses when Shaul / Paul states: "having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled" ......- OH OH, did he say be ready to revenge ALL disobedience? ( I wonder why that never gets mentionened?).

If we look at one of the biggest objects of our focus and maybe even distractions in todays society it is the Industry of "Sports and Entertainment" in which some of the more popular sports seem to be football, baseball, hockey etc.- gladiator sports that require serious protective wear for the head and body. The more dangerous the sport..... the more folks seem to love it, but the league leaders of all these sports understand the severity and consequences of the participants if the heads are not fully protected.

We can also bring to our minds the military of each and every nation that also understands the importance of protecting it's soldiers and combatants to increase their safety and efficiency as much as possible in hopes that it helps bring victory. We in this hour should have long known that when we fight, our most important armor is still the head protection and that best way cover or "kaphar" our skull and it's contents be they much or little (you do your own math) is by utilizing the greatest head-protector know to mankind ->>> Yahushua.

In the "Ibrym" or hebrew vocab the word for helmet is: qowba - pronounced: ko'-bah or ko-bah'; (Strong's - 6959 & 3553) and it is a part of the protection the annointed men and women of YHWH from days of old to present and future times. For varification lets look at just 1 prophetic example from the book of IsaiYah showing a "certain someone" will put on the breastplate of righteousness as well as the helmet of salvation, in IsaiYah 59:16-21 it states: And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. 17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. 18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence. 19 So shall they fear the name of YHWH from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of YHWH shall lift up a standard against him. 20 "And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob", saith YHWH. 21 "As for me, this is my covenant with them", saith YHWH; "My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed", saith YHWH, "from henceforth and for ever".......- This "arm" of YHWH had to adorn a breastplate, a helmet, garments and a cloak ALL in righteousness before bringing salvation as appointed. (don't take long to figure who that is ).

We have also read what Shaul aka apostle Paul wrote as not just good advice but profitable instruction, in his edyfing epistle to the Ephesians 6:10-18 he wrote: "......Finally, my brethren, be strong in our Master, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of ELOHYM, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of ELOHYM, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of ELOHYM: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints";

.......- we can understand that Paul is metaphorically yet truthfully telling them how to prepare themselves properly by covering themselves in a manner that will bring them victory. Paul instructs them how to cover from the feet to the head to the sword in-hand against these spritual powers.

Paul like many others want us to understand that the "helmet" in our battle gear is YHWH's salvation, and who who else is able cover our head with this blessing other than YAHUSHUA?. Lets verify this from his first epistle to those in Thessalonica, in 1st. Thessalonians 5:8-11 he wrote: " .....But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For ELOHYM hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our master Yahushua h'mashiach, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do"........- ALL our spiritual battle gear have a important purpose, but that headpiece stands above all ....it's the only piece that can save our souls! - todah YHWH for Yahushua h'mashiach...... haleluYAH!

As a additional note I need to remind us that as surely as helmets keep our heads protected - they can also keep our heads from getting too BIG, ( lets not name names .....lol )
