                          I pray the peace of the Most High be on you and yours continually in this season.

In this short but hopefully edifying communication I'd like to delve deeply into a skimmed over passage that most have read but failed to put together for the purpose of redeeming it's benifits; "resist the devil and he will flee from you". Most of us know many that have in the past or are currently undergoing attacks from the pesky adversary, if we ourselves aren't experiencing this, and this is nothing new on this planet in which we exist. No matter how much some of us sincerely pray or fast or seek knowledge from our elders or consult our spiritual guides etc... we still seem to go through constant attack from spiritual wickedness with what seems like no immediate remedy.

When we search for spiritual answers, some unqualified teachers will just recite to us what they haven't really understood themselves " resist the devil ... and he will flee from you!" If is was just that simple all their congregants and families and friends would be free of the effective attacks of the pesky adversary. If you know like I do then you would know that is not even close to reality or their cities would be almost free of drugs, alcoholism, assaults, rapes, domestic violence, robbery, theft, prostitution, child molestation, etc... But for some reason we haven't successfully "resisted the devil".

Now lets get to the fullness of this inadequacy, the misteaching of this passage correctly! If we take the time to look at this as it was recorded we will see that the most important part of the directive has been ommited .... wow! We actually see in James 4:7-8 it was fully recorded: "Submit yourselves therefore to Elohym. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 4:8 Draw nigh to Elohym, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." whoa .... that requires a whole lot more! First things first, it instructs us to "sumbit yourselves to Elohym" before the rest can fall into effectiveness. To fully (not partially) submit ourselves to YHWH it must be mind, heart and soul - meaning a total submission.

First lets revisit a few passages dealing with the mind, in tanak Yshayah / Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." so if your mind is stayed on YHWH, you got perfect peace coming and the pesky adversary can go get lost. Yeah I'm sure we all have read Psalms 34:19, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but YHWH delivereth him out of them all" and now feel we should seek persecutions, but this passage doesn't indicate to seek but to expect troubles then expect deliverance - but to receive that deliverance you need to first get direction from vs. 17 and 18, The righteous cry, and YHWH heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles, 34:18 YHWH is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit". If this doesn't deal with what our heart and spirit should be pertaining to submitting ourselves to Elohym I dont know what does!

We read in the basar (good news) Matthew 22:36-38 , Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 22:37 YAHushua said unto him, Thou shalt love the Master thy Elohym with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. so we also see Yahushua reminded us to properly submit ourselves to YHWH and we are commanded to love him with ALL our existance.

Apostle Paul also gave us a example of bodily and mind submission in the epistle Romans 12:1-2, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of Elohym, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto Elohym, which is your reasonable service. 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of Elohym". Apostle Paul also wrote in his epistle to those in Ephesis 4:23-24, "And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after Elohym is created in righteousness and true holiness". also we can revisit several other passages such as Philipians 4:7, ... and the peace of Elohym, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through YAHushua h'mashiac", also we have learned from Peter 1:3 and 1:13, Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of YAHushua h'mashiac"; 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of YAHushua h'mashiac; so we have examples to show a "call to action" of what to do with our hearts and minds for the important purpose of submitting ourselves to Elohym.

Now comes that self-indicting question, have you truly and seriously and totally submitted yourself to YHWH? ... if not, then it is easy to understand why that pesky adversary has NOT fled from you. Submission to Elohym is not what we need to do while others are watching but is what we need do at ALL times.

Here is a simpler question, do you really want the adversary to flee from you and yours? in other words "do you really want that pesky fly to shoo away?", well if so all we need to do is apply the tenants to our lives daily concerning the sincerity of total submission not to man or to worldly things but to YHWH alone, after which we will have the effective power to resist the devil and he will have NO choice but to flee from us and assuredly those around us will see the difference and only then will our light so shine before men as in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven". but how can we bring proper honor and glory to the Father if we are busy being engaged by the devil?, simple ..... Submit yourselves therefore to Elohym. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to Elohym, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts .... nuff said,
