YAHUSHUA SPEAKS from BEGINNING to END

A Place to fellowship with the humble children of YHWH

shalom mishpacha, baruk h'shem YHWH - weh baruka ha'bo beh h'shem YHWH , "blessed is your coming in the name YHWH" ->>> Yahushua!

I pray all is well with you and yours or will be soon.

In this attemp at articulating the words of the word made flesh ->>> Yahushua, I'd like to look at a title we have been bequiled into speaking but ought NOT speak out of our mouths - that title: "rabbi". We also still seem to be surrounded by those that seek other elevated titles such as "reverend" - a title that is never even applied to man in the scriptures and only once in psalms 111:9 pertaining to the name / renoun of YHWH. In hebrew it's: "yra", also the variations "yre" and "yrah" ( Strong's 3372-3374 ), go look up the true definition of this hebrew word and then try to convince me those that use that title is really worthy of the definition, ..... especially considering what they teach!

It is still being taught in this day and time by those that often teach us in error that also the title "rabbi" is ok to apply and that it only means "teacher", and we know Yahushua never had a problem with those properly trained being called teacher because he himself was taught, he taught others and he even sent his talmadym (Strong's 3925 & 8527) out to teach! ...... Lets verify this:

Mark 1:21-22, And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. 22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. Luke 2:46-47, And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers Luke 4:14-15, And Yahushua returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. Luke 13:10, And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. Luke 18:20, Yahushua answered him, "I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing".

.......- there are other scriptures to drive home this point but what I wanted to confirm and show was there is NOTHING wrong with one being taught and then being refered to as teacher, In the language that we can learn the most from, (the ibryt language) the word used for teacher is moreh, spelled "mwrh": pronounced: mo-reh'; - archer, a teacher or teaching; (Strong's 4175), from the concept of a archer - one that shoots or teaches to hit the mark, remember the"eretz mryah" aka the land supporting mount MoriYah that we have read about b'reshyt 2:22, >>> And he said, "Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of". .......- this land was certainly a place where Abraham was taught by testing, takes it's name from the decalration that it's the place that "YAH teaches" ( MoriYAH ). So we see teaching is not a problem, but the problem is when others come later and attempt to elevate themselves or seek to be elevated by a higher title that they desire to possess.

Lets look back at a conversation Yahushua ( a man that never lied ) had about these types to the multitudes so that they NOT fall for the pridefull desires of the self-annointed - self-appointed leaders of Yisrael. We read in MattiYahu chapter 23:1-8, 1 Then spake Yahusua to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2 Saying, "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: 3 All therefore whatsoever HE bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after THEIR works: for they say, and do not. 4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, 6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. 8 But be NOT ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even mashiach; and all ye are brethren". .......- verse 3 is properly translated here more accurately than the KJV but the point I wanted us to examine is verse 8 where Yahushua has already explained the errant desire for this title and how it's NOT to be utilized!

Yahushua plainly teaches that this title "rabbi" is NOT a reference to teacher - but a reference to "Great MASTER!" .....and those wannabe teachers didn't teach correctly anyway! Yahushua is certainly the word made flesh but the word before he came in the flesh, - those writings we call tanak themselves NEVER ever used the coveted title "rabbi".

If we take time time to do what we should have and looked at the etymology of the title "rabbi" we can learn it's a compound from the hebrew word "rab" and hebrew suffix "y" showing the singular possessive "my", .... Lets verify this also - the word "rab"actually means: many, much, great, to abound, to increase, multiplied, to grow large, abundant (in quantity, size, age, number, rank, quality), etc.: (Strong's 7227, 7230, 7231, 7235) we use this word regularly as when we say "todah rabah" which most of us know means: thank you much / greatly , so if you refer to anyone, either male or female by the designation "my rab" you are referring to that person as "MY GREATNESS" - a desired title they covet based from pure pride and conceit, ( another major mistake the famous boxer called "ALI" made -> having folks call him "the Greatest"..... but look at him now! ).

Now there is a important reason only a few of us with understanding can glean from the instruction Yahushua gave to them AND us: If you call a person "rabbi" aka "my great" you actually do them a dis-service, you have partially removed what little humility they may have had and you may have taken away their ability to be a humble servant,.... aka their intended purpose to serve! In the modern vernacular there is a saying: "Don't gas em up", translation: if you gas somebody up or make their tank full...... they may go TOO FAR!

Lets revist some passages of the word of Yahushua himself, we should have read in MattiYahu 20:25-28, "......Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27 And whosoever will be CHIEF among you, let him be your SERVANT: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many". ..... & MattiYahu 23:11-12, "....But he that is GREATEST among you shall be your SERVANT. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted". ......- also lets confirm that by what Mark espoused from chapter 10:43-44, ".....But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be GREAT among you, shall be your minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be SERVANT of all" .......- also confirmed Luke 22:25-27, .....and he said unto them, "The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. 26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is CHIEF, as he that doth SERVE. 27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that SERVETH". ......- Our "annointed one" made it as plain and as simple as can be that to be great or exceeding or even a proper leader we are NOT to covet titles or elevated posistions but to be humble and that also means to teach only AFTER we have been taught.

Yahushua's "disciples" but more accurately defined: his "t'lmadym" (Strong's 3925 & 8527) meaning: "learned or taught ones" - themselves referred to Yahushua as "rabbi" as confirmed in John 13:13, "Ye call me rabbi and adon: and ye say well; for so I am" ...... - but don't you think after all the correct teachings by word AND deed AND examples he truly deserved it? - have you heard of or do you personally know anyone that can hold a candle to Yahushua? .... then >>> call NO MAN Rabb'i !
